  • What is Activ Absence?
    Activ Absence is an online holiday leave and sickness management system.
  • Why do I need it?
    Often holiday planning and absence is managed separably on paper & spreadsheets. Activ Absence is designed to replace these measures providing numerous benefits.
  • Is it complicated?
    Activ Absence couldn’t be simpler to use, staff can request leave in as little as two mouse clicks.
  • Is it a web based service?
    It is a web-based, there is no software to download or install, we look after all the servers and backups.
  • What web browsers are supported?
    Internet Explorer 7+, Mozilla Firefox v4+, Google Chrome, Apple Safari, Opera v9+
  • How is it licensed?
    Any employee that requires leave and absence managed will require a licence.
  • Can we manage any type of leave or absence?
    Any number of different leave types can be managed in the system with its own rules and approval routes e.g. maternity, paternity, compassionate, medical appointments etc…
  • Can the system manage public holidays for different locations or countries?
    All annual public holidays and company grace days can be managed by location or department.
  • What about workers on shift patterns?
    Work patterns can be configured including part-time and rotating shift patterns.
  • What happens when I change my work pattern?
    Whether its changing from full time to part time, or just changing the hours worked, you can configure the system recompute the leave entitlements based on the configure policies.
  • Can the Managing Director have visibility of all employees’ availability?
    Senior management can have visibility of all employees’ absence by direct reports, peers, department, team or company-wide.
  • Does it calculate the Bradford Factor?
    The Bradford Factor is calculated automatically and can be displayed on every employees home page.
  • Will the system replace our return to work paper form?
    You can automate your return to work interview process with your online company form including summary of historical employee absence.
  • Are there different levels of user access to the system, I only want employees to see what they are supposed to?
    Access levels for employees can be controlled and managed through administration.
  • Can I easily identify trends in employee absence?
    Quick access to comprehensive absence reports and analysis using live data including BVPI 12.
  • Will the system alert me if any absence triggers occur?
    Triggers and alerts can be configured quickly and easily for specific company absence rules.
  • What about the year end process, it such a manual task currently?
    Use the configurable and automated year end roll-over process to mange this task.
  • Is it easy to set-up our employees initially?
    A standard import template is provided to make the initial employee set-up and configuration as quick as possible.
  • Can we get our historical leave and absence data into the system?
    A standard historical data template can be provided to make the import of employee absence data employee as quick as possible.
  • Can we get access to our data at any time?
    There is a full absence data export capability to use at any time by authorised users.
  • Where is the data stored?
    The system is hosted at a data centres in London, Gloucester & Germany locations.
  • Does it link into Microsoft Outlook, Google calendars?
    Calendars in the system can be synchronised through ‘iCal’ subscriptions.
  • Can the system interface with other HR or Payroll systems?
    Full absence data export capability to provide accurate information for use in payroll systems.
  • Can I use on a PC, MAC, Smartphone or Tablet?
    Activ Absence can be accessed from any device through a web browser
